Metal spinning, commonly known as metal turning, is a high-performance metalworking technique for producing axially symmetric metal components. Spin forming differs from conventional metal forming methods in that it does not cut and remove material to get the required shape. Metal spinning tools and equipment turn a metal disc or tube into a properly spun finished product.
By rotating a metal disc or tube, producing a mandrel, and clamping it on a horizontal or vertical CNC spinning lathe machine, a conical, toroidal, or round shape is formed. Depending on the metal being spun, the metal spinning process can be done hot or cold.
