CNC Turning & Milling
CNC turning and milling are widely used machining processes in the manufacturing industry.
CNC Turning:
CNC turning is a machining process where a workpiece rotates while a cutting tool removes material to shape it. The cutting tool is held in a tool holder and moves along different axes to achieve the desired cutting motion. CNC turning machines have a chuck to securely hold the workpiece in place while it spins. This rotation allows the cutting tool to remove material from the outer and inner diameter, as well as the face of the workpiece, resulting in cylindrical, conical, or contoured shapes.
CNC Milling:
CNC milling is a super flexible way of removing material from a workpiece using a rotating cutting tool. Unlike CNC turning, which is great for cylindrical shapes, CNC milling can make all kinds of shapes and features on both 3D and flat workpieces. Basically, the workpiece stays still while the cutting tool spins and moves around to cut out the shape we want. There are different types of CNC milling machines, like vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis ones.
